Meatballs

These meatballs are a family favorite, recreated to reduce the bad in the original recipe and reducing it's original calories by half without sacrificing the flavor and richness. The use of flax seeds that are high in omega 3's and fennel seeds that aids in digestion, you've turned this other wise unhealthy meal, healthy.

1 1/2 lbs extra lean ground beef or lean ground turkey
3/4 cup Whole grain Italian breadcrumbs or three slices whole grain bread, toasted and ran through the food processor.
1 tbsp cup Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp part skim ricotta cheese
1/2 tsp Flax seed
1/2 tsp Fennel seeds.
1 tbsp rosemary
1 1/2 tsp oregano
1 1/2  tsp basil
1 tsp thyme
2 tsp parsley flakes
1 tbsp garlic powder


Combine all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl, making sure to completely incorporate all the ingredients together. Form into desired sized balls and either cook in your favorite sauce over low heat for two hours or bake at 425* for 10-15 and then by, finishing off the cooking process slowly simmering in your favorite sauce or the foody crafts HEARTY Marinara Sauce for 30-40 minutes.
