Sauteed Asparagus.

The high alkalinity from the juice of asparagus is effective in reducing the acidity of the blood and helps cleanses the tissues and muscles of waste.  Asparagus is an alkaline food, which is rich in protein but, low in calories and carbohydrates.  It is an excellent source of potassium, folic acid, vitamins A, C and K, and traces of vitamin B complex.  All genuinely beneficial in fetal development for pregnant woman and also helps with PMS symptoms such as, swelling and bloating while the high magnesium levels help with irritability, depression and fatigue.  Another powerful food for the ladies.  Enjoy!



 
1 lb fresh asparagus, bottoms removed.
1 tbsp canola oil
2 tbsp  omega smart balance butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
fresh cracked black pepper
salt to taste

In large skillet heat oil and butter, add garlic. Cook until fragrant then, add asparagus.  Cook for 10 minutes over med-high heat or until color of asparagus becomes a bright green.  Remove from heat and cover for 10-15 minutes.  Add salt and pepper to taste, stir slightly and serve.
